The Palace 73 VIP Lounge Artworks
The Palace 73
The Palace 73, Seoul, South Korea
2024
Renowned as the “White Architect,” Richard Meier is celebrated for his pure white palette and masterful manipulation of natural light. His architecture breathes with the rhythm of time, transforming throughout the day. In his first-ever residential project in Korea, THE PALACE 73, Meier’s high-end architectural language is expressed in a hidden VIP lounge where visitors are invited to emotionally connect with the space and experience a lifestyle shaped by architectural elegance.

01. Have | Welcome Zone
Upon entering the lobby, guests are greeted with a narrative-driven media projection. Optical art overlays the linear artwork of THE PALACE 73, symbolizing the cityscape surrounded by forest, luminous watercolor skies, and shadows bending with time. The installation invites viewers to imagine a life within Meier's architectural vision.

02. Wave | Philosophy Zone
A serene white lounge reflects Richard Meier’s design philosophy, opening onto a beach-view fireplace. Artist Paul C. (Cho Hong-rai)’s series, a monophony of light and time : Just one day, Life, unfolds in a timelapse—featuring blue mornings, coral afternoons, and black night seas. Sculptural furniture, curated tableware, spotlighting, and specialty mirrors further immerse guests in this contemplative space.

03. Cave | Rest Zone
In the hidden VIP lounge, an antique-style “cave” offers a secluded resting experience. Reminiscent of a wine cellar carved into stone, the space is imbued with the ambiance of an olive tree’s shifting shadows. Projected gently onto the plaster walls, this scene evokes calm, intimacy, and meaningful conversation.
